Interesting danish postmarks
Below are two examples of so called “star postmark” (or mill wheel postmarks) that where used in Denmark between 1866 and 1929. These are IMHO very impressive looking on single stamps. I can only imagine how great these look on covers and other full items.

To my knowledge, there are several sub types available with these postmarks (these are type II unless I’m completely wrong). Like with any postmarks, some locations are much more common than others, and some are extremely rare.
Tough these are extremely beatifull, their lifespan was very short. On 31 July 1929, the danish GPO announced that the star in the middle of the postmark should be removed (and this was normally done by the local blacksmith). This of course created a new era of interesting postmarks.
