Sometimes I find myself writing these notes add very odd hours. This time I’m dealing with the “pleasures of child family” as stomach flu has hit few of my kids and I’ve been awake for few hours already.
Anyway, I don’t know if there exists any stamp promoting proper washing of hands (and the importance of it), but I think there definitely should be. After all, stamps can and have been used for “propaganda” purposes since day one (or why else do You think Penny Black has portrait of Queen Victoria?).
Washing hands properly may not be equally sexy topic as saving the glaciers or the Olympic games, but it’s definitely a step closer to everyday life.

Dear Keijo,
I can undestand you perfectly as my daughters suffer from different sorts of flue, varicella zoster infection etc. at the moment and my nights tend to end around 4.00 AM : )
How do you convince your wife, that in such moments, stamp-related activities are appropriate ?? : )
Concerning the hand-washing, I thought I could recall such a stamp, but I can’t locate it. During the celebrations of the World Handwashing day, though, Nepal stamped all mail for 15 days with a special postmark: see

Best wishes for all of you,
Christoph

It takes lot’s of love
Thanks for sharing information about global handwashing day postmark
PS. Thanks once more for the letter.
The Blog is now taking a small break… As it was to be expected, the stomach flue spread to rest of the family (me & ms included) during the weekend
We’re all feeling slightly better by now, but still need to rest at least few days before getting back to normal regime.
Take care,

The best six doctors anywhere
And no one can deny it
Are sunshine, water, rest, and air
Exercise and diet.
These six will gladly you attend
If only you are willing
Your mind they’ll ease
Your will they’ll mend
And charge you not a shilling.

Feeling a whole better today…
