Minor variety on 1971 Kenya seashell stamp
Here’s an interesting minor variety I found during the weekend while placing some recent additions to my stamp collection. The below image shows two copies of CTO-used 20 shilling Kenyan 1971 seashell definitive stamps.

1971 Kenya - CTO-used 20sh seashell stamp with Pterocera Scorpio. Notice the difference in blueviolet area on the desing (enlarged below).
At first I thought it was just a normal color shift, but as far as I can see, there are no traces of shifted color on nearby areas. So it’s makes it a definite no-go theory IMHO. But if this is not a color shift, then I have no idea what this is and how it was born… What do the blog readers think?
If this is a more consistent variety, then there should be plenty of similar copies floating around.
