As some know, I was visiting Helsinki, capital of Finland earlier this week. Though I had planned on writing some notes from the road, I didn’t manage to write a single line. Such is life, LOL. Anyway…While updating the summaries for my “open for all” stamp exchange page last night, I came up with an idea to share some more detailed statistics and opinions about it.
This is possibly one of the topics I wish I would never have to experience or write. But here I am typing this… Today’s mail brought me few exchange letters that were way off from my usual stamp exchange. After some digging I managed to find out that somebody had entered my details as unsolicited listing on stamptraders.org stamp traders list.
Today’s mail brought the first results of my public stamp exchange offer. As the Finnish winter is having it’s peak (with temperatures around -20 up to -30 celsius degrees), I’ll be definitely having a blast during the weekend while enjoying the warmth of fireplace
As some know, I’m somewhat enthusiast stamp exchanger. Without a doubt I’m having at least one active trade going on constantly; most of the time I’m involved in at least 2-3 trades. Yes, it takes both time and resources, but in return my collection grows at the rate 2-3,000 new items per year due to this contribution; and in exchange I naturally give away the same amount of unnecessary duplicates…This time I’ve decided to show some of the stamps I receive from other traders.
One of the “popular topics” on my inbox (email, facebook etc.) involves trading/exchanging recent Finnish mint stamps to recent non-European (usually Indian, Malaysian or Vietnamese) issues. I can say that not a week goes by without at least couple such request landing on my inbox.
