It’s time for week with incoming mail showcase. These covers (and cards) have landed my mailbox sometime in December or early January. And as usual, there are some very nice stamps that will add to my stamp collection. Let’s kick off with a bunch of Australian covers I’ve received with my participation on various stamp exchanges / swaps.
It’s been a while from the last time I showed incoming mail, and like usual, it’s been piling up. First, here’s a cover from Australia sent by Martin. It features 1984 rockpainting stamps issued to commemorate bicentenary of the colonisation of Australia. Australian rock paintings are among the world’s oldest examples of human race’s artistic endeavour.
As some know I’ve been having more or less severe health issues for the last 7 months. Well, early this morning I’ve signed in to local central hospital for a planned (surgical) operation, studies and treatment that will hopefully alleviate my condition.
Few weeks back I did something unordinary, and bought this fabulous item for 55 AUD (+ postage). Normally I don’t spend this much on single item, but IMO this is truly attractive piece of philatelic history and worth it’s price.
Here’s a cover I received lately from Australia with a stamp from the 2008 Waterfalls of Australia series.
World Environment Day (or in short WED) is a special commemorative day established by United Nations to stimulate awareness of the environment. This year’s host the event is Mexico which reflects the growing role of the Latin American country in the fight against climate change. The United Nations official WED website has some great tips on how to “Easily Green Your Daily Routine“, but what would a “green matter” list look for a stamp collector? Below is my “star advice” that I wish every enviroment cautious stamp collector would use.
