As some know, I’m somewhat enthusiast stamp exchanger. Without a doubt I’m having at least one active trade going on constantly; most of the time I’m involved in at least 2-3 trades. Yes, it takes both time and resources, but in return my collection grows at the rate 2-3,000 new items per year due to this contribution; and in exchange I naturally give away the same amount of unnecessary duplicates…This time I’ve decided to show some of the stamps I receive from other traders.

Some covers

Amongst stamp exchangers, there’s an unwritten policy to use nice stamps for postage. In practise this means either commemoratives or large pictorials.

First a cover from Netherlands sent by Mike. It’s having a tete-beche pair of dutch 2009 Europa-stamps. The common theme for Europa stamps this year is Astronomy. First stamp commemorates LOFAR – the world’s largest radio telescope project. Stamp on the right commemorates Huygens lens and discovery of Titan on the 17th century.

Next a cover from Hungary sent by Tamas. If features two stamps issued in 2008. The stamp with the bird (Crossbill) celebrates Őrség National Park. It is part of the annual stamp series running since 1998. On the right is the highest nominal value from the set commemorating XXIX. Olympic Games in Beijing.

And finally a cover from US by Jeff. It features five different stamps from the TV memories issue.

Stamps I pick from stamp exchanges

As I’ve written earlier, I prefer doing stamp exchanges based on images. In practise it means that both parties can pick the same number of stamps they actually want/need.

Here’s a sample of the stamps I’ve picked up for myself. Nothing special there – just a nice selection of used worldwide stamps I didn’t previously have.

What a nice blog! I want to swap stamps with you (50 mixed)!

    Hi Viet,

right now I’m not looking for new exchange partners – sorry.

PS. And I should add, that I prefer images/scan based trading, not random mixtures. And the lots I trade, are usually far larger than 50 stamps (due to heavy postage costs).

    best,
