Another finnish Christmas tradition is Christmas sauna as displayed on the 1977 Finland Christmas postage stamp.
And like with the sleigh rides, the practises relating to sauna have evolved a lot in the past 30 years. Yes, almost every finnish home still does have a sauna. But instead of wood / open fire, they are heated with electricity. And no, kid’s don’t have to no longer carry water as most saunas are joined to local water network.
