Rural postmarks on Cyprus stamps
Rural postmarks seem to be somewhat “popular” amongst Cyprus (and British Commonwealth) collectors, but I admit knowing absolutely nothing about the topic besides owning few random items.
First here’s a King George VI definite with Alaminos (Larnaca) rural postmark:

1938 Cyprus - King George VI definitive, 3/4 Piastre. Michel #139.
And then something newer with a rural postmark of Makrasyka

1966 Cyprus - 1900 years from death of St. Barnabas, Makrasyka rural postmark. Michel #265
For those interested about the subject, there is a CD-rom called “The Rural Post of Cyprus 1886 to 2000″ by Ken Lewis. I’m quite sure it would be a fascinating read, but for a worldwide collector like me it’s simply not worth it’s price.
