To follow up yesterdays post about the wonders of India, here’s another extremelely beautifull cover from India. This time the stamps celebrate Rampur Raza Library.

The library a is a repository of Indo-Islamic cultural heritage and knowledge established in last decades 18th century. Library’s collection contain some very rare and valuable manuscripts, historical documents, specimens of Islamic calligraphy, miniature paintings, astronomical instruments and rare illustrated works in Arabic and Persian.

The set of four 5rp (or 500p) commemorative stamps was issued on on 19.06.2009. Stamps were issued both in miniature sheet and sheets of 100. First stamp has a picture of the library building, other stamps display items from library’s collection.

    right now I’m not looking for new exchange partners – sorry.

    PS. And I should add, that I’m not usually interested in “one/single country” exchanges. I’m a worldwide collector – that’s what I have, and that’s what I like to receive ;)
