Here’s a quick update on latest incoming mail with nice (mainly 2008/9) postage stamps. In addition I’m sharing some of the blogs statistics for february 2009.

The first stamp is a joint issue between Germany & Switzerland issued in 2008 (Michel#2691 , cat value 1.30€). It’s design shows a wooden bridge over Rheine with a view to city of Bad Säckingen.

The second stamp is Finnish 1st class forever stamp showing  mountain avens (Dryas Octopela) issued 2006.  It’s part of ongoing series that depicts parts of the Finnish northern flora.  The stamp was sold on a sheet of fifty stamps.

Third stamp is yet another finnish flower issued in early 2009. The flower is a China peony (Paeonia lactiflora) named Sarah Bernhardt after the famous French actress. Once again this is a 1st class forever stamp.

And the final piece is a Finnish 1st class self adhesive definitive (from a roll) with portraits of Aino Sibelius (artist) and Jean Sibelius(composer).  The portrait of Aino is a watercolor work by his brother, Eero Järnefelt (vary famous finnish painter).  The image of Jean Sibelius is a drawing by Albert Edelfelt (another highly famous finnish painter).

And finally some blog stats… In february 2009 this blog had 300 unique visitors / readers  from 48 countries/territories, 19 posts and only 1 comment . I know you readers are out there, so please don’t be so shy ;)
