		<description>Thanks for this article on precanceled stamps.  I know nothing about collecting and I just received a stamp collection that belonged to my grandfather.  From looking around, I have determined that the majority appear to from the 1920 - 1940 and many are precanceled. I had bought a couple books and looked around online - but yours is the first posting that really seems to talk about precancled.  Thanks so much.</description>
