The 1976 Finland Christmas postage stamp displays yet another very established Finnish Christmas tradition: early morning Christmas church.

Though many Finns use cars extensively to move around, in 1976 the situation was slightly different and sleigh riding to church was somewhat common on the country side. Unfortunately it’s a tradition that no longer exists besides few random commercial service providers to attract foreign tourists.
