Classic stamp designs: Cyprus George V definitive
Here’s a superb example of classic stamp design that is ageless. This is multicolored 1912/1915 King George V definitive (with “multiple crown CA” watermark).

1912/15 Cypros - George V definitive, 2 piastres. Michel #62, cat. value 2.80€
Okay, my copy has few short perfs on the bottom, but that’s fine for me (untill I get a better grade copy). But otherwise I love the colors and design of this stamp. I just wonder why they don’t make stamps such as these anymore.

Me too. It’s a joy to see those designs of a bygone era. A lot of “modern” designs suck – photoshopping a few pictures is not how one should be designing a stamp. But looks like it is a worldwide phenomena nowadays.
