One final post about Brazilian stamps (at least for the time being)… Way back in late 2009 I wrote about a Spanish stamp having doubled impression. Well, here’s few new similar additions to my stamp collection, but this time on Brazilian definitive stamps. I believe these are examples of slurred printing (also known as kiss print), where the dragging of the wet ink has caused the dots to elongate in the direction the press travel.

First, a pair of stamps from 1976/80 definitive stamp series displaying various traditional professions:

1978 Brazil. 1.80 Cr violet, collecting leaves of Carnauba palm (Colhedor de Carnauba). Both are printed on phospor paper, but the upper stamp has tagged (phosphorescent) frame around the design. Notice the doubled impression on borders and inscriptions on lower stamp.

Then a similar kind of example from ‘National resources: fruits’ definitives series issued few years later. This example suffers from weak inking as well; the color of stamp should be fully black, not dull gray.

1982 Brazil. 30 Cr. black, This time the doubled impression is best visible on vertical lines / shapes. The stamp seems to suffer from weak inking as well, as it's supposed to be black instead of grey.

Considering how easily I spotted these from a small bunch of Brazilian stamps, I’m pretty sure these are nothing uncommon or rare. In every occasion, these do add a bit of variety to my collection.
