Just to show a case of good luck in contrast to last post. This is something I found while sorting stamps I had soaked from kiloware… An Argentinian 10 peso definitive postage stamp issued in 1995. It looks like any modern day topical stamp, but if catalogs are to believe, this one is worth 30€ a piece.

1995 Argentina. A 10p bird (Zonotrichia capensis) definitive with a catalogue value of 30€.

I did a small cross-reference with some older catalogs I have, and it appears that the catalog prices for this stamp have doubled over the past decade. So very likely this is one of those very few modern issues that are on their way to becoming “prestige items”.

I think findings such as this make a good example that (worldwide) stamp collecting is FUN. Small gems such as this are very possible to find. This stamp definitely made my day and it will add to my Argentinian stamp collection more than nicely :)
